After we schedule a date for your consultation, one of our decorative painters will come to your home or site with a photographic portfolio, several folios of samples in various finishes, color chip decks from most major paint manufacturers, and stencil catalogs. During our consultation, we will work with physical elements, such as lighting, flooring, existing furnishings, and scale. We will also customize the finish to your vision and needs. If you have a budget for faux finishing, let us know so that we can help you select a finish that fits your budget. Our work is thoughtfully determined to please you by complimenting and transforming your environment.
We will provide you with a written proposal which will include line items for materials, samples, and labor. The materials fee is the deposit and will hold a specific place for your project on Prestige Faux Design’s schedule. We are typically booked six weeks to two months ahead, so if you want a project completed for a specific event, please contact us as soon as possible.
When you decide to proceed with your project and make a deposit, a sample of the exact chosen faux finish will be made for you, so that you can picture the finish before we begin to apply it. This allows opportunity to make adjustments beforehand. Your satisfaction with the finish is primary.
Artistic Faux Design artists will then apply your finish on the scheduled date. We can help you beforehand with recommendations for base painters and drywall refinishers. We can include scaffolding in your proposal or direct you to scaffolding rental businesses. Our goal is to assist you in preparing for your decorative painting, from concept to completion.
Various fees are involved in this process. Faux finishing is different than standard painting. Base painters use rollers or sprayers to apply even layers of the paint film. As decorative painters, we apply your finish by hand, which can take up to six times longer than applying paint alone, but the effects are endless and will create a depth that standard painting cannot achieve. Our decorative consultation will last approximately 1 hour. A color consultation is also available and is charged by the hour. Our price for the decorative painting itself is based on many factors including square footage, the complexity of the finish, cost of materials, hours required, and in some instances, travel expenses. Artistic Faux Design carries both liability and workman’s compensation insurance for your protection.
After your faux finish is completed, we leave you with information on taking care of your walls as well as a color swatch card. Artistic Faux Design believes in supporting our clients through the entire decorative painting process. We also provide a touch-up service to keep your finish looking great for years to come.
